I live in Michigan but keep a 83 Ford camper van in Albuquerque. I was refered to Wayne's (Wayne is not there but the husband and wife team of Rick and Jan have run it for years) by a friend in Albuquerque and I have had them do air conditioning work as well as drive train work on different occasions. I have also had safety inspections as well as minor tune-up work. The are unfailingly honest and very compentent. The only disadantage for me is that they are not open on weekends. They are on the SunTran bus line and once, I flew into Albuquerque and took a bus from the airport to pick up my van. These are really good people!

Their evaluation of my POS car ended up costing half as much as they quoted because they found an immediate critical flaw. It was a nice touch to only charge half what they quoted. They also do maintenance work on other vehicles and always do a great job at a nice price. If they could deliver faster results and be open longer hours, it would be a match made in heaven.

I was quoted over $400 for work on my tranny at another shop. Rick, owner of Wayne's, said I didn't need the specified work. He replaced the fluid, filter and gasket, inspected and rotated my tires, put in new synthetic oil and filter, checked other levels, lube, belts, hoses, replaced wipers, inspected my wires for mouse damage... charged me $236.00. Gave me a ride to the school I work at (where he's also pitched in to help w/ their automotive class). He told me on the way over how a disabled kid was spending time w/ him in his shop to look into being a mechanic. I don't know Rick or his wife (Jan works there), but they've treated me fairly and have been pleasant and professional and friendly whenever I've had work done at their place. I highly recommend them.

They are busy so it took a few days to find the problem, but they delivered my car to me on Friday evening and picked it up Monday morning, fixed it and delivered it Monday evening ( it helps that they live near me, but the offer was greatly appreciated). It's great to deal with Janet. They are easy to deal with and the price was below what I expected. I'll go back and recommend them to anyone.
