We have a 12 year old Volvo 240DL wagon that we have always taken to the dealer we purchased it from for service. At the cars 90,000 mile service (yes, very low miles) the dealer found several things to be repaired. We believe the dealer, but were unhappy with the labor charge ($89/hour) and the car was not as clean as other times. I came to Car Talk and looked up places to go. There were several, but Old Time was close. I took the car to them and one other close by for estimates. Jeff and Mitch were very nice and even drove me to and from my office at the time of the estimate. It turns out Mitch is a Volvo mechanic. When my wife and I picked up the car (she is the primary driver of this car) they explained everything they did, and even put the car up on a lift for us to see what they did. They also asked me to come back in a few days to retension the new belts, at NO charge.
