I've been a customer for 12 years, and have brought all sorts of problems on all types of cars to Amwell Automotive for repair. This is the kind of place where you can pick up your car after hours by sliding the check under the door - even if you're a first time customer. This is the kind of place where they tell you that you have a bad spark plug wire, and ask you if you'd like to replace them all, or just the bad one. I recommend them to everyone who will listen.

They always call me with a dignosis and estimated repair cost. They also tell me if they find other problems, and they prioritize the problems (i.e., must fix now, can wait,etc.). They are extremely responsive and communicate well with their customers. Shop was formerly known as Ralph's Repairs, but Ralph retired and sold it to some of his former employees.

I've been a customer with old, badly beaten vw's for at least 10 years. these guys have always been straight- forward, explained problems in plain english without dumbing down to me (and I was a young woman when I first brought my car to them), and charge a fair labor price. They will look into parts options for you if you want (dealer, replacement, or used) and they are really nice people to boot! They'll also prioritize your repair if you've towed your car in. I've recommended several friends to them and each has thanked me for it.

Honest, straightforward service. On time and within the estimate. They take time to explain what needs to be done, and give you options when appropriate. Excellent shop.

Very trustworthy and excellent work. This shop has worked on our 240,000 mile + Acura Integra for the past few years, maintaining it and addressing any of our concerns. They know it's our goal to drive it as long as possible without spending too much on this great but old (1994) commuter car. We really appreciate their help in determining what really needs to be fixed and what can be delayed.
