When my Suburu threw a fit, they said "It's going to cost more than it's worth, better to look for another car." A true expression of honesty!!! So they didn't try to get another deck for their boat out of me. By the way, who DO so many garage owners buy boats?

Competent and reasonably priced. (Several times they said "no-charge" when I left!) They have worked on 3 of our vehicles (2 Fords, 1 Volvo) over the past 9 years, and I've always been satisfied. Low overhead may help with their charges. (Shares a minimal waiting room with attached Midas dealer.) Patient & courteous with my zillion questions. The only bad thing is that I just moved out-of-state!

The best thing that happened to me and my car is that it failed the emissions test. That was how I found John's Auto Repair. I had to find a shop that was certified for NJ emission testing, so I went to Car Talk and found John's Auto repair (already with two positive comments). While waiting for my turn, one of the other customer's told me he was going to John's for ten years. All the other car owners appeared to be repeat customers also. When it was my my turn, John knew what the problem was and fixed it immediately. It was a minor adjustment, and there was no charge for the repair. The only thing John asked was that I call back to let him know if I passed inspection. My car did pass re-inspection. Not only was my car fixed, but the whole experience was great (I hate having to get my car fixed). I have since made an appointment to have work done on our other car. John is extremely friendly, polite and took the time to speak to each of his customers. Doctors should take a lesson from John on how to treat people with courtesy and respect.

My daughter-in-law happened to overhear people saying how good this shop is, and so, tried them. She was very satisfied and recommended them to me. I think I've died and gone to heaven when I go there! -They 'get me in' quickly, even when it's short notice (usually!) -They seem to know exactly what they are doing; give very good diagnoses and fair estimates -Never fail to offer transportation home and/or a loaner -They do the job right the first time -The bill has never made me shudder; they seem fair -I've never seen them try to 'tack on' extras, but do keep me informed of things that may need attention in the near future; no pushing at all. -Smaller things, but meaningful, are fresh coffee available, magazines of various types to entertain if I choose to wait (and many things are done 'while I wait', quickly) -Lastly, they are just really nice guys! I have never, ever, felt such trust in ANY service person, much less an auto repair shop; I am thrilled to have them at my service!

John's Auto Repair got me across the whole country. Best mechanic in the world. I really didn't do anything, it was all John and his auto repair. If you want to go anywhere, John can get you there. Where else would you go???

John Nicola, owner is extremely knowledgeable regarding automobiles no matter what year or make. More important he has compassion for his customers regardless of race, sex or age. In all my experiences with John's Auto Repair they never "Scewed Up". Therefore, I could not respond to that statement.

John and Craig and all if their guys have done great work on my car(s) for decades. I have recommended stranded family, from out of town and in a bind, to John's--and everyone has been immensely impressed.

I chose this mechanic after reading the great reviews for this shop in the neighborhood. The owner was absolutely rude and racist which made me feel compelled to create an account here and write a review. After I explained the problem and what I thought the cause might be, he plainly told me that if you understand so much you might as well fix it yourself. Then he went on asking me many questions as if I have tampered the car, check my knowledge, and eventually started to become rude with a racist attitude. I lost my temper after a little bit more of talking to the owner, and just left the shop. The guy might be good in his job based on prior reviews (I did not let him work on my car so I can not comment on his competency), but given the way that he treats his customers and his rude/racist attitude I would absolutely never recommend this shop to anyone. There are plenty of good mechanics just close by this shop so there is no need to give business to such rude/racist people.
