My father has owned at least one Volvo continuously throughout my lifetime (I'm 34). He's owned several 122s, a 144, a 740, and now a 940. At least one of the 122s made it well over 200k miles, and all of them at least 100k. I grew up learning the peculiarities of these cars, and watching and helping him repair as much as of these cars as he was willing to handle. It was only natural that as an adult I would eventually own a Volvo myself. My current vehicle, a '84 240 wagon, I purchased at 155k miles, and it's got 197k now. Now that I have a one-year daughter, and a zillion other obligations, it's difficult to make time to do more than the preventive maintenance needed to keep this vehicle going. Thankfully it's a forgiving vehicle, too. When I need a mechanic, I take my Volvo to Bohannon's in Passaic. It's a family business, and though they work on many brands, they specialize in Volvo repairs. I have taken my Volvos there since 1992. I was referred to Bohannon's by a friend, and it's in that spirit I recommend them to you.
