OK, I'm writing this a couple of years after leaving Conway, but This guy is one of the most amazing body and paint men I ever met. Kind of a grump to work with because of his crazy perfectionism. He'll let you know if you haven't been taking care of your car, especially if he's painted it! Serious pride with a dash of nutso. (my best friend used to own a radiator/aftermarket 4x4 shop, and he sent work to Motorsports Plus, like painting visors, and other accessories, he also helped us paint our boat which came out great!)But if I wanted a car done right, I'd bring it to him. There certainly is a bit of a premium price, but this is by no means a drive-through body shop. I only know some of this second hand (my buddy was a friend of the owner's when he lived in Conway) but Jim's (the owner/operator) dad was a body man of similar reputation. Jim's specialty and apparent passion is very high level restorations. Someone once told me that you could'nt even see old paint if you looked under the window seals, even though he hadn't removed the windows. He of course does most any job, to pay the bills, but there always seems to be something either interesting, or high-end, which is particularly noticable in small-town New Hampshire. Anyway, ask around North Conway, you'll probably hear a few complaints about the price, and maybe about Jim's my-way-or-the-highway, do it right or don't do it attitude (isn't that what you want in a body man?) but I seriously doubt you'll hear a complaint about the very high quality. This sounds like an advertisement, but I really barely knew the guy, like I said, mostly second hand. (plus painting our boat)So next time you flatlanders are up in the mountains showin' of your fancy city duds and luxe-o-mobiles, maybe you should look Jim up(remember I'm not 100% sure I remember the name right) at Motorsports Plus. His rep, and this review is well earned.
