I don't know this shop well because I only stopped in there once, with a problem, while driving on a 600 mile trip. I knew there was a slight vibration in my steering when I left home, but on the highway it seemed to be much worse. After 100 miles I couldn't stand it anymore because I was afraid that I had a C/V joint going out and would be left stranded before I got to my destination. Passing through Genoa, NE I saw Galaxy Auto Repair on the main street and pulled in to see if they would check out my C/V joints. On hearing that I was just traveling through on a trip they dropped everything (they were very busy with their shop full of cars) and made time to look at my car. All of their lifts already had cars on them so they slid a floor jack under my car, removed my front wheels, and after about 10 minutes of inspecting, pushing, and pulling on various parts, told me that they really didn't think there was anything wrong with my C/V joints. They suggested that it might just be that the wheels needed to be balanced, and they offered to balance the front wheels stating that if it didn't fix the problem I wouldn't have to pay for it. They balanced the fronts, I went for a test drive, and the problem was gone. I had them balance the rears for good measure before I even asked what the charge would be. When we went to settle up I was very happy to hear that the total bill was only $24! They charge $6 per wheel for balancing and didn't charge me for any diagnosis time or anything else. In addition, they were extremely friendly, polite, and professional when talking to me. In short, I have never had a better experience at any other shop. I would definitely go back to this shop, if the need arose, if it weren't for the fact that they're 100 miles from where I live.
