Great shop after we moved to a new location. They worked on our Honda Civic, which was having trouble accelerating on the highway. We brought it in and although they could replicate the problem, they couldn't get the check engine light to come on. They tested the major systems and said everything checked out. They didn't want to make a repair unless they had to, so they suggested we take the car and drive it until the check engine light came on and then drive it straight to them. We did that and they found out that several cylinders were misfiring. They replaced the plugs and wires for about $175 and now the car runs great. We really appreciated that they didn't try to fix a lot of stuff without knowing the problem. We will definintely continue to use them!

Cathy Hofman, the service manager, formerly worked at Tao. She now operates this shop with her husband, Steve Scott, as the chief mechanic. Cathy has worked on my Acura and Hondas for several years. She is the most honest service manager that I have every encountered. She goes out of her way to make things right, and she has a knowledge of Honda and Toyota products which is truly remarkable. Cathy has handled my Acura for the last several years. I trust her implicitly. She and Steve cured a long- term "overheating" problem by sticking it with it for several weeks. Finally Steve recalled that certain makes of Civics had a problem with the temperature gauge going bad. He played his hunch, replaced the gauge, and the car has been perfect. Thus, the car had not been overheating at all. Cathy gives complete and detailed explanation of what is involved in a repair. She is also great for getting her "guess" over the phone as to what might be wrong. She's been right about 90% of the time, and this is without even looking at the car. ("In this year Honda frequently the problem is the . . . .") I give Cathy and Steve absolutely the highest rating. And I'm not related to them, have no financail connnection them, and am merely a satisfied customer. John W. Raleigh

Another shop that I relied on for years recently closed. A friend recommended Premium to me. I called, got an estimate, and took the car in the next day. They not only did a great job of fixing the problem, but created a fix for another small problem at the same time. To my pleasant surprise I wound up getting out the door for slightly less than the original quote. Kathy was very good at answering my questions and providing me good information about what they found and what they could do about it. I'll be taking my car there again in the future.

I'm one of those people who, up until the last few years, always had friends (who happened to also be mechanics) available to lovingly work on my car. In a pinch, I decided to take my car to Premium Imports to have some critical repairs done. I was very nervous because it was the first time I had ever really taken my car to a shop, but they came highly recommemded as being great with Toyotas. They did a fantastic job and charged me substantially less than I thought it would cost. They have always been very honest about what needs to be fixed on my car. It's not uncommmon to hear them say, "Well, the __________ should be fixed at some point, it will cost _________, but you can probably get away without fixing for another six months or so." I recommend them to all of my friends with Japanese imports and I am a loyal customer.

I used this shop based on the recommendations on this site and their convenient location. I have a '98 Ford. They were able to work on my air conditioning the day after I called. They called to tell me what the problem was and how much it would cost - my regular shop was not sure what was wrong after having the car for a day and their quote for ? was $500 to $1000 more. Work was done on time and at quoted price. I will use them from now on.

I first met Cathy & Steve when I picked their garage out of the phone book at random in 2002 upon first moving to Raleigh. I had my 1991 Honda towed to them and have been a very happy and loyal customer ever since. My wife and I believe in maintaining cars but driving them until they drop (200,000+ miles!). They have been our sole service providers for our 1991 Honda Accord SW, 1991 Toyota Camry, and now, a 1997 Honda Civic. Cathy is a fantastic service manager who has always provided us with all of our options when it comes to repairs and scheduled maintenance and is great at "triaging" problems for us so that we can get the most important repairs completed first. Most importantly, their garage believes in doing the job right and will stick with a problem until it is solved. If you are looking for a garage with owners you can trust, look no further. Always helpful and courteous, treat me and my Subaru like friends, patient and informative - even when addressing my silly questions - and do good work for a fair price.
