Choice Auto Repair is a small shop that specializes in Nissan's. You won't find any fancy decor or overdressed service managers there. What you will find is that every Nissan owner in the county who really cares about their cars takes them to Choice. I've been there numerous times and must say it's one of the best shops I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Be careful not to drive past the place - it's hard to spot from the street.

Leonard's shop is in the basement of the High Point Furniture Store on Hillsborough St. I have been going there since he first opened. He is a certified Nissan mechanic and only works on Nissans. He once worked for a dealership, but left due to a heart problem; too much pressure in their garage. When he first opened and didn't have much business he would putter with my truck for half a day adjusting anything that needed attention, but would charge only for what I had asked for. I made the mistake of telling all my friends what a great mechanic he was, and now he's so busy that you need an appointment and his prices have gone up considerably. Still he is more reasonable than the dealership (and honest) and more competent than most other foreign car shops. I'll use him as long as my old truck keeps on truckin' because he's a good guy. By the way, I drive a 1984 Nissan ext. cab pickup with 208,000 miles, original engine, trans., clutch, starter, alternator, carb., radiator, and it still uses virtually no oil between my 4000 mile changes! The front end is ready to fall apart but this is the cheapest riding I'll ever do!

After Hurricane Fran one of our cars was crushed and the other was trapped. My husband bought a dirt cheap Maxima station wagon that was sitting in the K-Mart parking lot-- because we figured it might be weeks (waiting for insurance and tree service companies-- we were right) before we could arrange working transportation. Shortly after we bought the car there was trouble. I can't remember exactly what. We found Choice in the phone book and were at first simply excited to find a Nissan mechanic in our own neighborhood. Then-- that first repair was cheap, quick and easy. Choice took great care of that car over the years and the car turned out to be one of the best car purchasing experiences we've ever had. Our next two cars were Nissans and we're shopping for another one now. Nissan is a great make, don't get me wrong, but I doubt we would have been so in love with these cars without the experiences we've had at Choice. Finding a good mechanic is like finding gold. Seriously!! :) :)

I was originally referred to Woody by a mutual friend, but I had never met him until I had a clutch go out on my 87 Sentra. This was in 1992 when he first opened his shop. He was so great to work with, that I have never been anywhere since. He works on all my cars, and I only buy Nissans now just because I want him to be able to work on my cars. I have even got all of my friends to take their nissans to him, and now they are like me, they only buy Nissans becasue of his great service.

I would just like to tell anybody out there that has a Nissan what a great mechanic Woody is. My family has been going to Choice Auto Repair as long as we've had Nissans....aka forever. I am a twenty year old female which is hard when it comes to finding a good mechanic that won't rip you off. Woody (and all of his staff) have always treated with the respect that I deserve. Their customer service is the best around and I always know that when I leave there, if something were to go wrong (which it never does) that they will be there to fix it and if it was their error they will do it for free. I know nothing about cars (except where to put the gas in) and Woody has always taken the time to explain to me everything that he will be doing to my car. I highly reccomend this shop because I have been going there myself for four years and my parents for about a million and I have NEVER had any problem with them what so ever.

This is a great shop of real nice people who do a professional job in every respect, I can't say enough good things about them. They were recommended to me and that is about the only way to find them. Don't be put off by the appearance of the building, they fix nissans without fluff, lab coats, etc. I have always left feeling I got a square deal.
