I have patronized this shop for many years, and have gotten to know most of the mechanics by first name, as well as the service managers. There have been two service managers in the past ten years. This one is very helpful. His name is Scott Wicker, and he does his job with a really helpful attitude. He does not promise what he can't deliver, and he is courteous to all who enter the shop. The mechanics have stayed in this shop for many years, with few turnovers. The latest to come on board is Eddie, who came over from the local Chevrolet dealership, (as I understand) because of better working conditions. The shop is clean, but not obsessively so. They have never advised me to do anything that was not really needed to be done. My car is a '91 Taurus with 119,000 miles on it, and will get rear struts next week when the parts come in. Cost, about $300. I believe that is a reasonable price.

A Ford dealer in Chapel Hill wanted $5500 to install a new factory rebuilt engine in my 2001 Ford Focus. After a day on the internet, I found a brand new engine from a Ford Racing Parts authorized dealer in Kannapolis - Hilbish Motors - for $1300, including shipping from Michigan!! This dealership said no such engine existed, and made no effort to find out, so I had the car towed to Ray Motors in Hillsborough, and had the engine shipped there. The wonderful guys at Ray Motor installed my new engine for $972, including new brake rotors and a safety inspection. Total cost for a brand new 130 hp 2 litre engine installed (and brakes and inspection) was $2350, versus the quote from the other shop in Chapel Hill of $5500. The service from Jeff and Keith at Ray Motors was excellent! The new engine from Hilbish Motors (Mike) is excellent!

I have two Ford's, neither one bought from these guys. However, their service department has always been very helpful and honest with me. They have given me options of how extensive to repair, what really has to be done, what could also be done, but isn't absolutely necessary, and what I could probably do myself. For DIY items, they've given me the part number for parts so I could order them online (cheaper) and told me how to install them.

Good and honest dealership. Excellent service manager and mechanics. They do what they say they say they will and do it well. Been in business a long time.
