I first went to this garage after the dealer told me my car's engine was "dead" and could not be fixed. The representative I was speaking to then tried to hand me off to one of their salespeople. I went to Hawkin's on the advice of friend and they fixed my car for a reasonable price and I put on another 10k on the car before replacing it. Everyone I've recommended them to has been pleased with their service.

Hawkins is an excellent shop. They have always been scrupulously honest, took good care of my car, and made me feel I could trust them and rely on them. I wish they were open a little later, but that is a minor complaint considering the quality of work they do.

I have been using these guys for a while now and they are the most honest mechanics I have seen. I have since moved to Greensboro and after getting a taste of mechanics here, I have even recommended these guys to some of my coleagues to use their services. They are such nice guys that at times they have told me what the problem with my car was and how to fix it myself, saving me money on labor. I recommend strongly to everyone.

I only had one experience at this garage, but I must say that it was a positive one. We had a problem with the rear differential of our van. After getting the run around at another garage (to say the least) we had it towed to Hawkins auto. They figured out the problem quickly and explained it clearly in a professional manner. They laid out the options of repair, and eventually fixed the problem at a fraction of the price of the previous place. The only down side is that they close the shop early, so it is inconvenient for those who work full time regular hours. That being said they went out of their way to accomodate.

Friendly folks; they had a spot open the day I called, finished the work early, and charged $100 less for the work (timing belt & water pump change) than other places I called.

Jeff and June at Hawkins are great! Our son broke down in NYC (luckily near some relatives). Jeff called the NY mechanic for us. He determined that the problem was probably due to a recent repair he had done (the part turned out to be defective from the manufacturer). Jeff & June worked with the parts distributer to ship the part to NY overnight and they also arranged for the distributer to pay for the part, the shipping and the labor. As the mechanic in NY said, "You guys have an incredible mechanic". We could not agree more!

Jeff is VERY knowledgable. Can think outside the box. Explains options and what he can do throughly. Car will be ready on time at the price you were told or better.
