While the shop is a bit far from where I live, I gladly go the extra mile. My biggest beef with most auto repair facilities nowadays is that I am only allowed to talk to a liaison (read 'salesman'), not directly to the person that works on my car, plus I often feel put off as a woman. Andy's operation is not fancy with counter people and waiting rooms, and I appreciate that he discusses the specific problems with me as if I understand a little bit about internal combustion engines. We found him when he rescued us in the middle of the boondocks on a Sunday, towed our car and located someone who would rent a car to us - you city people will not understand why this was difficult but I'm telling you it was looking impossible for a while. I cannot recommend Coinjock Automotive highly enough if you are looking for an authentic old-school shop - plus his wife sells some cool antiques in the front.
