I took my car in for brake work. Doug Lloyd called back and said the rear brakes had to be repaired immediately, but the front brakes could go a few more thousand miles. He asked if I prefered to have all the work done now, so I would not have to bring the car back in 4 to 6 months, or would I prefer to do the rear now and the front later to spread out the expense. I have been taking my vehicles to Lloyd's for 13 years. They do good work at reasonable rates.

I've been using Doug for 5 years. My Oldsmobile has 110,000 miles on it. He has always fixed only those things which need fixing and his price is always fair. He also has great diagnostic skills and is really turned on by his work. Everybody I've sent there has been very happy.

Simply put, this is the best place to buy tires in Chapel Hill. Fair prices and honest employees.

Everything that needed done to my car could easily have been traced back to neglect. The staff at Lloyd's had every reason to treat me like an idiot, but they were completely respectful. They talked me out of unneeded work that I wanted done and explained in-depth, when and how I should check on things to make sure I didn't have problems in the future. I just moved to Chapel Hill, so this was my first visit to Lloyd's. It probably won't be my first.

I've been in Chapel Hill for a year now, and I've taken my car into garages a decent number of times. I like Lloyds, because they're honest to a fault, they often offer the best value, and have a very good turn around time. If they can fix it, they will do so at a reasonable price, and Jason (Doug is no longer there) will take the time to explain the problem to you fully. I know a bit about cars from working as a grease monkey in a garage during high school, and in my experience, Lloyd's has never try to jip me in any fashion. The turnaround time is great. I'll often be able to drop my car off for a minor repair, grab lunch at Foster's market, and pick up my car when I'm done. Oh and one more thing, They are the best deal in town for tires. The one thing I would say "negatively" is that they don't always have the expertise or tools for model-specific repairs, so I still have to go to Passport motors for some VW-specific problems. The flip side to this is that they won't attempt a repair they don't feel confident about, and possibly botch up your car.
