My first experience with Mr Powers came when my Camry's timing belt broke, and my car literally coasted into his parking lot. I had never been to Mr. Powers before so I didn't know if I could trust him. I tried to call another guy who is a good and honest mechanic, but he wasn't at his shop yet. I worried that if Mr. Powers were not a man of good character, he could SERIOUSLY rip me off. I bit the bullet and walked into his shop. Fortunately, Mr Powers was a good guy, and he only charged me about half of what Toyota would have charged. Since that day, I take my cars to no one else, and I praise him to all my friends, family and co-workers. When people move in across the street, they asked about finding a good mechanic, and I told them about Mr. Powers. Now, they will go nowhere else. When I get the money, I'm having him put a bigger engine in my '81 Camaro, and I know he will do it right. One final comment: He can order parts for a repair job, but he prefers that you bring your own when possible. I think he kinda cuts some slack on the bill if you get your own parts. When my wife gets her oil changed, she takes her own oil and filter. We save a lot of money on oil changes. O.k., more more thing, he keeps his shop very clean.
