I FOUND THIS SHOP OVER 10 YEARS AGO AFTER SEVERAL LESS THAN STELLAR REPAIRS AT OTHER SHOPS.I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED BETTER BY ANY OTHER SHOP INCLUDING ONE OWNED BY A CLOSE FRIEND (NOW CLOSED)- MODERN SERVICE COMPLETES THE REPAIRS FASTER THAN EXPECTED EVERY TIME AND FOR LESS THAN I EXPECT--EVEN ON A TRANSMISSION REBUILD ON MY WIFES CAR. I SEND EVERYONE WHO ASKS TO MODERN SERVICE,AND MOST WHO DON'T ASK.

We've been going to Modern Service for over 10 years, and have always been extremely satisfied with their help and service. They know their customers on a first-name basis, and they are great to talk to. Charles Pendergraff and Marshall are great guys to work with!

We were so glad to find someone who did what needed to be done, didn't add on unnecessary services, did the work on time and did it right. They are "good people" in the classic sense.

Honest, competent mechanics. I have more than one time taken a car in w/ some odd noise/issue and had Marshall say "there's nothing wrong" (and no charge). They will answer questions and provide feedback based on YOUR needs. Recently my wife dropped off our van with a brake problem. Because they had done the work previously, and because Marshall said the repair should have lasted longer, he replaced the brake pads for free. He stands behind his work.

At one time I had five cars and usually at least one of them would be in for repair, service, or inspection. I spent so much money there that they almost named one of the bays for me. Their work was always excellent and prices reasonable. I would never take a vehicle anyplace else.

Fast, competent, more than reasonable in all my visits. I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else (well, maybe Tom and Ray.)

My engine light went out and I had taken my car to another shop in Cary. They charged me for cleaning the carburetor and new plugs and wires, almost $300. I drove my car home, and the engine light came on a few days later. They told me they fixed it according to the codes; the codes I ran free at Autozone had to do with the emissions... I asked them if they were sure when they told me what the problem was. I took my car to still another shop for a diagnosis, and it was the evap canister and was going to cost me $600 to replace. I then took my car to Modern on the recommendation of an attorney friend, and they fixed it for a little over $400. AND my engine light didn't go on after a few days!!! I spoke to them at length and they are honest, know they don't charge enough. All of the older gentlemen of Cary bring their cars here, I think I met the gentry of Cary while I was waiting on my car. They are very trustworthy and are extremely patient with me. They said I had a sound car and I would need tires. They didn't try to sell me on any and I appreciate that! I used to own a Chevy and took it to the dealer, after having to rent a car and come back several times and there was problem after problem, and they never fixed it!!! I had decided if I went to them again, I'd rent a couple of burly guys instead of a rental car! I don't have to worry at Modern Service, they are honest and they don't look at me as a dumb girl they can rip off when I walk in the door.

Modern Service provides advice on what you need to do to fix your car, and then knows how to fix your car. Honest and good character. They want to do a good job, and more than that want to be good people.
