I know of five people who use Cleve at F & F. He is honest and the work is always reasonable in price. High quality work.

Until I left Chapel Hill I had been going to Cleve for about 15 years. We brought him everything from a 1972 240Z to a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee to a 1990 subaru and he was always fantastic. He is incredibly honest, prices are good and he is an extremely nice guy if you take the time to talk to him a bit. He sometimes has a gruff exterior and complains bitterly about all the work he has but underneath it he is a very intelligent, kind and funny guy. One word of caution is that he is so concerned about the prices he charges you that he will sometimes try to get refurbished parts rather than new. He off course tells you this and isn't trying to rip you off but if you want all new stuff tell him up front. Oh and by the way he won't work on new BMWs.

I wrecked my 1984 5th Avenue (I think he drives one too) a few years ago, and got a nice reliable car that only needs oil changes, and I miss Cleve. When I needed repairs he was always there. He had all his employees quit on him once because he insisted they charge the actual time they worked on a job rather than the "book rate". I would never hesitate to take work there, except that he might be too busy. Some kid changes my oil, but I send people to F & F when I can.

Cleve is the best mechanic in the triangle. He is so honest it is almost a disadvantage to him. I woulnd't trust my car to anyone else.

I took my car to F & F after Chapel Hill Tire told me that I needed 2000 dollars worth of work done to my ford truck for it to pass inspection. After leaving it at F & F (Granted, it was for a week), I had an inspection sticker and merely a 400 dollar bill. Cleve even told me that I only had to spend 250 dollars before I could get an inspection waiver, before performing any repairs. Couldn't ask for a more nice of a guy.

Cleveland is an excellent mechanic, has a great reputation, has been in Carrboro all his life. He is honest to a fault.

Cleve is fantastic. He applauded the fact I was driving a '95 Saturn with close to 200k miles on it and fixed my car cheaply and well. He even checked my oil and tires for me before I went on a long trip. Nice guy, fair too.

Cleve, the head guy is a character. He hates foreign cars, and loves old US cars. totally honest and competent - and has a good sense of humor.
