Bobby is well-known well liked guy and always has time to look at something or at least listen to a problem you are having. I took any used car I was thinking of buying to him for his approval. He explains things to you in english not technical BS, and if your problem isn't that serious but will become so later on, he lets you know best and worst case senario. I have bought two cars from him, and I say two only because I wrecked the first one, and they were both in excellent mechanical condition. He has another guy who works w/ him named Kenny and he is very competent and quick and deseves recognition for the quality of work he does. I see elderly women and men coming to him all the time w/ their new cars because they don't trust the dealership mechanics and because Bobby does excellent work for cheap. I now live in Miami and have yet to find a mechanic half as good.

I know embarrassingly little about cars, but Bobby did not take advantage of me. He did only the work that was necessary, and the price was just right. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was on Merrimon Ave one day and my vehicle hit something that I felt had fallen off the auto. I went back and a gentleman picked up a heavy round piece, He put that piece in the trunk. That day I went to Monteath's to show Bob what had fallen off. He opened the trunk and he couldn't believe what he saw! He started laughing and told me I had picked up a man hole cover!! he wanted to know about the man who picked it up!!!

after evacuating new orleans i drove my honda from texas to baltimore to hatfield, mass. to youngsville ny. to asheville nc. and then from asheville to new orleans and back. i was having problems with my blower motor and alternator. after checking out this website i found monteath's. i showed up and they got to my car in about 15 minutes. 20 minutes later the blower motor was working and the alternator was fixed. they charged me FORTY DOLLARS! i tried to give them more money but they wouldn't take it. the best experience i've ever had with a service center.

I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviewers. I picked up a used car for my grandson and had the guys check the vehicle for any mechanical problems. They did the necessary repairs in a timely manner for a reasonable price. I would recommend them to anyone.

My car suddenly developed a front-end vibration on I-40 east of Asheville. I got off and lucked onto Monteath's. Bob, Sr. heard my tale of woe and I was very shortly back on I-40 with Bob, Jr. He thought it was a wheel balance problem. Back to the shop and the front-end wheels were balanced. Back to I-40 and the vibration was gone. The charge? Just $40.00. They put me, a stranger, in front of a lot full of customers, in order to get me back on the road. I cannot recommend them enough.
