I've got a 2002 4cyl std trans GMC S-10 clone that's still suffering a little from the wreck that made it more affordable when I bought it. It was already pretty well along in recovery and rehab at that point, but still needed some attention. JD's has had it in on four occasions, with sizable work in Sept. 2005 and Feb. 2006. They've been circumspect and economical in making brake, wheel bearing, and A/C repairs, (un)bending on the frame, and in replacing or repairing suspension components. They've noticed when something left over from the wreck still needs attention, call me over to have a look, and do what makes sense for safety and economy. They've been especially good at interacting with me over what to replace, what to work around, and what to just live with. I know that a name like "One Stop" don't bode well for brake work, but give these guys a chance. Besides, they've got a comfortable, quiet waiting area where you can get some work done away from the office. PS - My wife says that the neighborhood safety rating goes to "kinda-sorta" at night, but gets a "4" during the day. PS2 - The mechanics may be certified. There's a bunch of certificates around. The staff is at least a dozen and they seem to do a wide variety of work on trucks and cars of all ages and types.
