They're willing to help you to stretch the life of things by doing, say, a weld on an exhaust system rather than replace the entire system. Also, if it turns out that you don't have a problem that needs tending, they'll say as much and send you on your way without charge. This past September, while at the Fall Festival in my Wisconsin hometown, I was at the demolition derby with my kids when I noticed two familliar-looking guys next to me. They turned out to be two mechanics from the shop. I don't know why, but that flet like a good thing. The address, by the way, is 237 Richmond St., St Paul MN 55102; the phone number is (651) 292-1286.

They've done good work at a fair price on my vehicle and have treated my sister to the same service when she had transmission work done.

Drew has become my new mechanic. I was absolutely blown away by his honesty, integrity, and helpfulness when my car broke down. He and the Magic's staff went WAY out of their way to obtain warranty coverage for an old repair that was beyond the 1-year warranty. Thanks also to the folks at NAPA, I didn't have to pay a dime. Drew saved me $400 when the shop that messed up in the first place told me not to bother pursuing an expired warranty, and only begrudgingly sent me the old invoice, thanks exclusively to their secretary. Further evidence that Drew is a truly wonderful guy in a world of scumbag mechanics out there. Because of Drew's helpfulness, I brought my car in a week later for a preventative repair that I expected to cost several hundred dollars. Drew had installed the motor mount in just minutes, and it barely cost me $100 altogether. I have never been pleased by so much as an oil change from other mechanics, but now I've finally found someone I can trust. Thanks, Drew.
