I had my serpentine belt snap and as a result needed it replaced. I was going to do it myself and then I realized that the knob for the pully had been broken off (this must have occured prior to my purchase of the vehicle because I've never needed to change the belt. I called a couple of places, one of which was Midas, they gave me an estimate of $140.00--one hundred fourty dollars!!! and what surprised me is that this was not the only place asking this much. I had purchased the belt from bumper to bumper for about $15 and Boulevard Sinclair charged me $40 to put it on because it was more difficult as the pulley knob was broken. Not only that, I watched an episode of "happy days" at the shop, by the time the episode was done, so were they.

I just moved into town and on the way down, an exhaust sensor fell out of the calalytic converter and was hanging down by a wire. I needed a couple of bolts and nuts and some tools to put it back in. I stopped in and the guys gave me the tools, nuts and bolts, I fixed it myself in the parking lot. They wouldn't take any money and I was on my way.
