I live about 3 blocks from Clyde's. I've been taking my cars there for years now. Brian, the owner, and Tom, the head mechanic, are great guys. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they do good work. Once I had a car that would get "stuck" in 5th gear if you had to slow down on the freeway. Then the clutch went out. I forgot to tell Tom about the 5th gear problem until after he'd replaced the clutch and put it all back together. He got really mad because he didn't want to give it back to me less than perfect. Another time I took in our 2000 Mazda Protege for an 80k miles timing belt/water pump replacement. Brian was all ready to do it but he looked it up and said we'd already done that a few years back (we don't put on many miles and I had forgotten) so he just changed the oil/lube/etc. I had given him the OK to go ahead and do it, and he in all honesty walked away from $1000 or so. Gotta love it.

This shop hates my car, but they fix it anyway, good natured folks that they are. They have replaced parts for free when they misdiagnosed the problem. The owner, Brian, is the only mechanic I have ever met who believes that we need an alternative to the internal combustion engine.

I go to these guys because they are honest...I mean HONEST...very honest. They've told me when I don't need repairs that I've thought I needed. They understand and make their best effort to accomodate emergencies. They are absolutely sterling about standing behind their work, and will address any complaints immediately and not hassle you about it. This has more than made up for the few times I've had a question about their work. The only real complaint I've got is that they don't always finish when they say they will, but they've always given me a loaner in that case. I have no hesitation in recommending them. And, they're nice people!

Would have given better marks but they changed my front calipers without telling me. Brian did appologize and threw in a few free oil changes, but I'm still paying for something I didn't agree

I have had nothing but wonderful experience with Brian and his crew. It's a family run garage and I recommend Clyde's hands down.
