I had patronized the same shop all my life, on the Columbia Heights, St. Anthony, NE Minneapolis border, then within a year the shop changed ownership, I moved (5 miles away) and the head mechanic died of a heart attack while fishing (That's how I would like to go, though hopefully not as young) I decided to try the shop nearest my new home, and after having three different cars (mine, my wifes' and our spare) repaired a total of 6 times have decided that Bona Brothers is my new repair shop of choice. The owners/mechanics (the best of them are both) are very competent, very friendly and describe all problems and repairs in the utmost detail. I can't say they are cheap, but I believe they are fair and more importantly, I believe they are honest. You can expect your car back fixed and also washed in the time frame you are quoted. You may be able to get your car fixed cheaper, but I doubt the work will be done better.

We have had several vehicles serviced at this shop. The waiting area is nicer than a lot of hotel lobbies. The staff are the nicest too. They always take time to explain the problems and it's almost uncanny how they can remember the details of each repair on your car, no matter how long ago it was. I've been offered rides home by them when they have had to keep my vehicle and on occasion when I didn't have a ride to their shop to pick a vehicle up,they were willing to deliver the car to my home. They seem to go out of their way for you. I recommend this shop.

The best part of these guys is that not only are they award winners of best mechanics in Minnesota. Yet this place gets what we call the dead car award. Back when they were on 40th and owned by there dad. My dads car's computer went out and was coasted into there lot. yet even after they moved over there and are running themselves. They are the best. Will tell you to your face if something needs to be replaced or if you can put it off tell a later date.

This is the best repair shop I've ever been to. It is a family owned business that really focuses on customer service.

Do not take your Subaru to Bona Bros. for manual transmission repair!!!! They fixed the original problem, but the transmission had two leaks (it did not leak before), a new rattle, it did not shift as well as I thought it should, and they did not realign it after taking the front suspension apart. The suspension also had a squeak when I got it back, and the car was also in their shop a week longer than they quoted me. I did get a new ball joint out of the deal, because they stripped the threads on the original one. They charged me to fix one of the leaks so I thought it would be useless to try and get them to look into the other issues. They are friendly and have a nice waiting area, but they will never touch my Subaru again.
