Carl's Tire has been family-owned and operated since 1955. We have taken our cars to them since 1986. Bob and Dave Peterson, owners, and their head mechanic, Lloyd, have been unfailingly honest, caring, and helpful all these years. If they do make a rare mistake, they stand behind their work without question and respond promptly. They're the ones I call with questions, which they cheerfully and competently answer. If I were buying a used car, I would take it to them for evaluation, knowing I could trust their integrity and knowledge. I recently had the local Oldsmobile dealer tell me I needed rear brakes, along with front brakes and other work. I took the day off work to get the repairs made by the dealer. By the end of the day, they hadn't even looked at the car. Then they made a lame excuse of not having the parts available. We then took the car to Carl's. They told us our rear brakes were good for 10,000 more miles. Carl's made the needed repairs and saved us a lot of hassle and money. I recommend Carl's to everyone. They're the best!

I had used Carls Tire for several years and was generally pleased. However, I recommended them to my oldest stepson to have his engine rebuilt, a early 90s Nissan truck. As it turned out they left a part out and he ended up rebuilding the engine again himself, which really impressed me. Carl's did end up refunding him 1/2 the money he had paid, but they also told him never to come back. I don't think that was going to be a problem. They also replaced my mother-in-laws break pads. About a year after they were replaced, and less than 3000 miles later, she told me they we making a noise. She asked that I take her car to Carls. Apparently, this was a family tradition long before I became part of the family. She was told that she needed to have her bracks rebuilt. I can't say what the exact circumatance was, but it seemed odd to me. My current view is that they are OK for very minor repairs, but nothing major.

The Petersons have a great shop and are always honest. When I drop off my Jeep for repairs or maintainence, Lloyd will always call with an estimate or suggestions for future work that needs to be done. 2 years ago my tire blew out on the freeway and damaged the rim. They towed my Jeep to their shop and sent out my rim to be repaired and even fixed my spare tire! I highly recommend them to anyone.

I worked near Carl's Tire so it was convenient to drop off my cars for maintenance and repair. In the 15 years I used Carl's I never had a problem with them. Their prices were competitive, the work done was always competent and they were honest. I few times I did have to bring the car back because it wasn't fixed entirely. But this would happen with any repair shop over this many years of doing business with a client. I only wish the shop I now bring my cars to was as competent.
