I can second everything the previous commenters have noted. I learned about Woodward originally from Click & Clack and have been using them for over 10 years and 5 different cars. I have never been disappointed. There have been situations where I have had a "major shopping list" quote was given me by another mechanic or dealership. Ron and his team were able to make the truly needed repairs for much less. This year Woodward have been given the "Best in Kalamazoo" award. It is well deserved!

Heard about them from a single girlfriend as a garage that doesn't take advantage of single women or treat us like we are 'dumb broads' who barely know where to put the gas. This has become my garage of choice for anything requiring diagnosis, like idiot lights going on or engine problems. They are not the cheapest place in town, but prices are reasonable and I don't have to worry about being ripped off with unnecessary repairs. Had my car in yesterday with symptoms of a wheel bearing going. Turned out it was simply some wires that needed cleaning-- a much cheaper repair. While it was in there, they fixed the air conditioning by simply recharging it. I had taken it to one of the 'cheap places' but hadn't gotten the air fixed because I was told it had a leak and their lowest estimate was $200. I got the air and the repair (that had set off 2 of the idiot lights) for only a few dollars more than minimum estimate at the cheap place.

I feel fortunate to have Woodward's Garage to service my car. They have an excellent reputation. In addition to my own car (past & present), my elderly parents also take their cars to Woodward's. For many years they faithfully took their vehicles to a dealership -- not good! My parents were way too trusting! Finally I convinced them to go to Woodward's where we all receive competent, dependable, and TRUSTWORTHY service (transportation available too). Knowing that we are well- served is a big relief and greatly appreciated.

The owner has a dry sense of humor but he knows his stuff and stands behind the work performed. It is a family owned business that has been around since 1927.

Three-vehicle family--been bringing our cars to Woodward's for five years. Reasonable prices, no sense that they've ever recommended unnecessary repairs. Occasional need for re-work, which they performed at no charge.

My family has been taking our cars to Woodward's for many years. My dad has been taking his cars to this shop for nearly 40 years. Now I drive over 60 miles to take my car to Woodward's as well. It is well worth the drive to know I am getting quality repairs. Woodward's has always correctly diagnosed my car and fixed it the first time. I have always gotten my car back the same day I dropped it off. The owner is extremely honest. As a college student, I appreciate this! If it doesn't really need to be fixed, he will let you know. The owner is a busy guy (and like the other reviewer said he has a dry sense of humor), but he is actually listening to you.

This is a great shop. They fix it right for a good price. They don't recommend unnecessary repairs, and stand by their work.

Woodward's, Ron and Greg, along with their mechanics, have worked on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the last 8 years, since I moved back to Kalamazoo from Grand Rapids. In GR I was stuck with using dealerships to repair the Jeep, but in Kalamazoo, I was told about Woodwards, an independent service garage that I am very very satisfied with. The Jeep has over 222,0000 miles and runs just fine. After having necessary repairs to the front end 4 years ago (at ~140K miles), I drove it out west and took it 4-wheeling over the continental divide on some pretty hairy trails. I only did this after repairs and safety checks performed by a mechanic/garage that I fully trust with my life. I wasn't going to go off a ledge road, or get stuck 100 miles in the wilderness at 10,000 feet. I didn't have to worry. It was a wonderful trip with safety and wonder for all.
