I brought my 91 Toyota Corolla to Brian because it began stalling on my way to work earlier this winter. Brian told the service manager that I needed to replace the distributor cap/wires. However, I had just replaced this with a genuine Toyota part this summer. It didn't make sence. When I questioned the service manger, he said that I should take the part back to the dealership. I did and the part was still good. The dealer tested the battery in front of me and I saw that it did not perform well under load. This made much more sence to me. I went to the parts store, bought a new battery, put it in and the problem was fixed. The reason Brian is a good mechanic is because when I confronted the service manager with the the facts of the situation and the why I thought Brian's diagnosis was incorrect, Brian allowed me to take my car without paying a diagnostic fee(Which I was willing to do even though I disagrred with his diagnosis).
