Ray always knows what is wrong, gives a very good estimate and works in a timely manner. He stands by his work, but he does it perfectly the first time. He has spent a lot of time driving a car to determine an illusive problem and hasn't charged extra for his time figuring it out. We recommend that all our friends and acquaintences go to Ray and they are always pleased and satisfied. He is trustworthy, dependable and honest. If someone has a problem with Ray, we figure it's their problem not his!

Ray's has ripped off half the town of Laramie. he pulls the typical bait and switch, and commonly underbids a job by just a bit when people are comparing prices, then doubles the price with no explanation when you come to pick up your vehicle. He will just stare at you without speaking until you pay up. A larger issue is work does not get done properly. I had Ray replace my CV boots, and he did not put my axle back in all the way. A few hundred miles down the road (while I was driving on highway 2 on in northern MT), the axle came out and I lost control of my vehicle, but somehow managed to get off the road and stop without incident. The mechanics up in Havre, MT first assumed my transmission went out, but when they couldn't find anything wrong with it, were FURIOUS to discover that someone had done such shoddy work that they could have killed me...and my nephew, who was in the car with me at the time. This happened in 2001, and inexplicably, I went back for one more repair at Ray's on a switch on my carburetor, which they installed improperly and shorted it out from the second it was put in. Of course, Ray charged me for it anyway and then twice as much as had been quoted. He has also done the same thing to my folks and several friends, and bad reviews persist to this day. STAY AWAY from Ray's. I don't know how this garage is still in business, except we live in a college town and the population is transient, so new customers show up regularly. But Ray is as dishonest as they come, and, what is a bigger problem, a terrible mechanic. I assume his one good review is either from himself or his immediate family.
