Ken is a master mechanic. He was flight chief on Rescue helicopter, skilled machinist, and practical realist. He can fix ANYTHING...

My van had smoke coming out of the dashboard at the interior fan switch. Ken Johnson and his crew went to extra effort to repair the switch rather than replacing the entire fan switch module in order to save me money. I also had some brake work done and they showed me the actual brake system parts that were replaced. This is exactly the kind of shop I prefer to take my vehicles to for repair. A shop where the mechanics discuss exactly what's going on including showing me the parts that were replaced. You leave feeling you can trust these guys. The final total on the bill was very reasonable. Ken Johnson and the other two mechanics that were there were always friendly and informative.

For almost the first time since I have had my car worked on by others, I was surprised and very pleased. Ken Johnson, the owner, is a rare breed. Fifteen minutes after I described the problem my car was having, he had his instruments connected to the car's computer, the problem diagnosed, and the part on order. The repair was completed the next day and was $28 lower than the estimated price. Better still, when my girlfriend asked him about having work done on her 2007 Mazda Miata, he asked her if she was having any trouble with it, to which she answered, no. He then checked her owner's manual and determined that no scheduled maintenance was due. He told her to just bring it in when her next scheduled maintenance is due or if she is having problems with it.

If Ken hadn't of done excellent work on my vehicle and charged me a very little amount for his work, I would rate this 1 star. I'm rating it well because he does great work at a very low price, but I'd like people to be warned that he has some kind of weird temper issue. He was initially very nice to me, complied with my budget, and kept me posted on what was going on. He even took the vehicle to emissions for me. If he wasn't a jerk, I'd rate him 5 stars. First of all, he's chosen to not post his hours online, or on his answering machine. They're posted on his window, but his door is always open so you can't even see the hours. So I came to pick my car up at about 6:20PM. He knew I would be that late any day I picked up, because my husband gets off work late and he had to (obviously) give me a ride there. He seemed to have forgotten that, because when I showed up, he started literally yelling at me. I'm also 9 months pregnant. So he chose to yell at and belittle a hugely pregnant woman and her dumbfounded husband while I stood there with a wad of cash for him. I was a day late to pick up because I was waiting on a check to come in. I explained to him I didn't want to make him wait longer. He yelled that I had already made him wait, and he isn't worried about money because he has plenty of it. Not that I give a fuck. He proceeded to continue spazzing like a ridiculous, whiny bitch to the point that I was silently laughing. It was quite a show. Something must have upset him earlier that day or something. He agreed to let me get my keys and pay him, but he continued to whine like a 3 year old. He tried to tell me his business has been around longer than Shwab (Schwab was 1954, this guy is only around 70. Not sure who he thought he was fooling) as if I'd respect his poorly posted hours more or something. He told me if I don't like the way he's talking to me, to not come back because he has plenty of customers. That's wonderful. Then this review won't hurt his never-ending stream of business he claims he has.
