Whidbey is an island and this shop is located on the south end of the island. The south end is rural and rather "small town". Dana has been here for years with this not so big shop. He is still keeping his head above water (no pun intended) even though a Les Swhwab Tire Center has moved into the general area. See what happens when they put in a few left hand turn lanes and stop lights to boot! Les moves in. Dana's shop is well liked by the locals because he and his staff are honest and fair. Sorry, I know that does not support the well based opinions of most car repair places. However the shop has a following from many local islanders.

They've been the primary care givers for my 86 GMC S-15 Jimmy for the last ten years, that's about 170K of the 250K miles on this fine vehicle. Hows this for honesty? About a month ago I took it in complaining of hesitation and rough running. Fearing the car was about dead, I authorized repairs to $500.00. All that was wrong was a something like a broken vacuum hose. While fixing that they threw in a tune-up. Total cost? $100.00. No extra surcharge for college fund, boat mortgage or retirement villa. I always recommend this shop to anyone needing a vehicle repair.

Actually they are located 3.5 miles west of the City of Langley in what is known as Bayview. My 1994 Toyota 4WD Pickup (65,000 miles) kept me alive and well for almost 4 years in the deserts of Tunisia and Algeria. Then was in Govt. storage in Antwerp, Belgium for over 3 years. Returning home to the Island, the brakes started grabbing and locking up. I assumed with all of the rough going, mileage and storage that I needed a complete brake job. Dana had worked on my RV several times years ago and still remembered me. I authorized a complete brake job and whatever else needed to be done. He called later in the afternoon and said "Come and get your truck the brakes are fine just needed adjustment and cleaning some glaze." Total charge $19.00! My personal rating, they are the BEST!

Honest and competent. What more do you want from a mechanic? This is where many of the locals go for service.
