Dishonest and irresponsible, the owner, Alex Kagarlitsky has lost a customer. I went here a few times for oil changes with no issues and thought I found a great new mechanic. With the last service a few months back I got into my car and noticed that the radio volume control knob was broken. They looked at it, first blamed my wife (who doesn't drive this car), then reluctantly tried to fiddle with it. I had three appointments for them to work on it, every one wasting my time as they just played around trying to refit damaged parts. I finally gave up when he insisted I let him take out the radio and let him work on it for a few weeks. I went to the BBB & the AG. They ignored the BBB complaint and wrote a letter back to the AG which claimed that they tired to take care of the problem, but I wouldn't work with them which was the opposite. At no time did they ever try to contact me to resolve the issue, but made me track them down, only to get blown off. I understand mistakes happen, and things break, but a good shop will own up to their mistakes and take care of them. Could he have replaced the radio? Yes, but he didn't. Could he have offered some other smaller compensation? Yes, but he didn't. Could he have responded to the BBB as a 3rd party to mediate the situation? Yes, but he didn't. Could he have contacted me at any other time? Yes, but he didn't. I have spent too much of my time and energy trying to get him to address the situation and getting the run around. He has shown himself to be inept, and dishonest. I will never do business with him again, and I would encourage anyone else considering auto repair in Wallingford to think of going somewhere else.
