Despite the name of the shop and the fact that Scott owns a boat (hey, it's a timeshare) Scott is the most honest and responsible mechanic I have ever encountered. I found out about him through a long line of word-of-mouth recommendations, and have never had a bad experience with his shop. The downside is that he is not open weekends, but is set up for easy drop-offs. His specialty is Japanese cars (he started as a Z mechanic), but works on my girlfriend's GM car despite the fact that he says it makes a bad odor in so many ways. I am on my second car with him as my mechanic (as is my girlfriend) and he is assisting me in my goal of driving my Datsun truck an equivalent distance as driving to the moon (I'm almost 2/3's of the way there).

Champagne did a radiator flush for us -- two days later I was driving the car and it overheated badly. I took it in and he looked at it, put in some radiator sealant, and didn't even charge us. I was really expecting them to try to rip us off by claiming some other expensive part had gone bad, but they simply fixed the problem without any hassle -- we'll be going back even though we've now moved and they are six miles away.

Had to have the serpentine belt on my 1994 Dodge Van replaced. Months later during a massive (as usual here in Seattle) rain storm I went thru a big puddle. The serpentine belt came off. Had a tow to Champagne. They fixed it and offered reimbursement for the tow but my insurance covered it.

Scott and Neal have always been friendly and fixed my car in a tinely and, cost wise, honest manner. The neighbor hood is being upgraded and I have never had any problems that way. They know cars, all makes.

I can't answer the question about what do they do if they screw something up. Haven't had that problem. About the question about explaining things. Scott is not the most talkative person in the world. You have to draw it out, but he doesn't hide anything and eventually he tells you. I recommend Champaign Service very highly.

Scott was recommended by a coworker who went to school with him, has always provided great work. Doesn't rip you off for unneeded work; a great example was our recent Subaru service was going to be $600 elsewhere, and he charged me less than $100.

Scott is a great mechanic who is honest and offers an excellent value. I sent my daughter to him for a repair and had full confidence in she was in good hands.
