I don't know a lot about cars but I really appreciate the fact that they like to show me what's wrong with my car. They have always done a great job at very cheap prices

Went in with a vague problem; could have been engine, transmission, belts, etc. They checked everything out and told me it was probably something clogged in the exhaust, which they don't work on. Didn't charge me a dime, and were very friendly.

I live in the U-district, so this shop is close by. Every time I took my car in for a light bulb or to get a flat tire fixed they never wanted to charge me. They are always busy but seem genuinely happy to help me out. A couple weeks ago my brake light came on while I was going to work. There is a shop next to my job so I asked them to check my brakes. They charged me $40 to tell me I needed to spend $600 more to fix my brakes. Being a single mom I just don't have that kind of extra money in the budget. We had a vacation planned and I couldn't take an unsafe car or afford to fix it. They told me my car wasn't safe to drive and really all but demanded I fix my brakes right then. I just wasn't convinced they were being truthful. I called the guys at Affordable and Tony said he could get me in tomorrow. Tony (the owner) suggested that I hang around and take a look at what the car needed. Sure enough I did need a new brake cylinder but I didn't need all of the other things the other shop had tried to force me to fix. It cost me $200 and I went on vacation. And they didn't even charge to inspect my brakes. You can bet that this is my car repair shop.

not sure but they did keep finding thing wrong after I told them what I wanted fixed. But I must agree that the things they kept bring up really did need fixing. I started with a $380 price and ended with a $1200 price. Like I said the things need fixing and when its your kids car how do you say no.

I had my 98 VW Passat to 2 other shops because it was making a very noticable clunk that I was afraid was going to leave me stranded or cost me a mint to repair when it fianally broke for good. I had taken my car to 2 other shops and spent over $1100 and the noise was still there. My dad recommended this shop. I took my car in the guy at the counter went for a ride with me. He asked if I could wait a couple minutes because he was pretty sure he knew what the noise was. So he recommened to repair my mounts and showed me why he thought that was my problem. I explained that I had already spent a mint at other repair shops and still had the problem. He said he would guarantee that the problem would be gone or I wouldt have to pay the $300. When I picked up the car 4 hours later he went on a ride with me. The noise was gone and the car drove and handled better that I ever remembered. My kind of shop and service. I asked my dad why he hadnt told me about these guys a $1100 dollars earlier.

I bought snow tires for my car from Brandon last year. I shopped around and the price they had was good and the tires are great. The reason I am writing this is because I was at this place yesterday when all of the snow and ice hit getting my snow tires put on. This place was a zoo. They had 3 customers for every employee and everyone was running around. A guy comes in looking for chains. Apparently they had told the guy they had the chains but had sold them. He said he'd been searching for chains all day and was desperate. This is the part I could not believe the guy behind the counter (didn't get his name) went and took chains off his personal vehicle and gave them to the customer. I am sure that the customer would have understood that they sold out of his chains at least he should have but to give the chains off of his own truck that is amazing. That kind of concern for a customer and desire to please is just not something you see everyday. No wonder I feel good about doing business here. My car was even done 15 minutes early amid all this frantic activity.
