I switched to Foreign Car Repair from the Swedish Pit down the street on the suggestion of a friend who is a Volvo fanatic, and it was the best decision I've made (other than actually buying my gem of a car, of course). The shop and waiting area are spic & span and all personnel are highly professional in every way. The mechanics are extremely friendly and really seem to know their stuff. The shop always differentiates between work that is really necessary now, versus work that can wait, so you never feel pressured or swindled. My Volvo now has over 200K miles on it, and I suspect that as long as these guys are my mechanics, it will run forever.

This shop specializes mainly in saabs and volvos. I have been to many similar sized swedish mechanics in the north- east. The guys at foreign car repair are by far the most honest and definately go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. They do not make unnecessary repairs and are fairly priced. One time I stopped in after deciding to do some work myself and they made a minor adjustment for me right away with no charge. I would recommend this shop over the saab dealer any day especially if you drive a classic 900. I have honestly never trusted a small shop more and it I am happy to spend my money in a small local buisness.

Bill Warner sold the business to one of his mechanics (Bill decided on a career change and followed his calling to theology school). I'm pleased to say that the new owner maintains Bill's high standards of excellence. I've always been impressed with their ability to FIX things and not just replace them the way the dealers do.

I would highly recommend these guys! The service is the best in town! If you have a Volvo or Saab These are the guys you need. Very fair and reasonable.

My Daughter is a Student at UVM and I needed someone to work on her car. They did, and did a good job.

I used this shop for several years without a complaint until my most recent experience. I brought them my mint Saab Aero for fluid changes and a new serpentine belt and got back a car with scratches in the paint, a smashed battery cover (I actually saw the mechanic slamming it with his fists), broken wheel well mounts, and warning lights for low coolant after the coolant change. I have no idea how much more damage they may have done. My efforts to deal with them afterward got no response. While at one time they offered quality service, now they damage your car and charge you for it. Avoid this shop if you care for your car.
