GT Performance is owned by a car guy, the mechanics are car guys and everyone is very knowledgeable. They always provided me with the right diagnosis and fixed only what was needed. They helped me keep my '97 Tercel on the road for over 5 years and 90k miles (I sold it with 175k miles), at a total operating cost (including gas) of $0.13/per mile.

I wouldn't let them put air in a flat tire. I paid over $2000 to have an exhaust leak fixed only to get the truck back out-of-time, with fouled plugs, broken lug nut, missing heat shields, numerous bolts, the AC belt left off AND still leaking exhaust! After taking it back to them twice to give them an opportunity to fix the problems without success, the owner refused to even return phone calls. When we finally gave up and took it elsewhere and paid someone else to fix the problems, they showed us the timing belt. He charged us for a new one, but put the old one back on! I sent him certified letters, with copies of all the documentation as requested....NO RESPONSE. I filed a BBB complaint, which he failed to respond to. Upon receiving notice that it would go on his record as a complaint in which he failed to respond, he decides to respond to BBB claiming he'd never done any work for me. But in the same letter says he tried to make me happy and I was not complaint with his requests...so which is it? You didn't do work for me or you did? LIAR! So now I get to pay more money to send copies of the photos, invoices, cancelled check, etc. to the BBB. His photo should be in the dictionary next to the word CROOK!

Put my 4x4 truck in the garage for the transfer case not working. They replaced the actuator valve which was not a problem, charged $ 300 but did not verify if 4 wheel drive was working. I took it back and they said they would have to look at it again. I did not want to pay any more money for them working on wrong issue. If they could not fix it right the first time or at least check to see the 4x4 working after charging me, I was not going to keep throwing money at the problem.
