By far the best shop I've found in my 25 years in the area.

I am a biased customer insofar as I want quality work clearly explained to me at a fair price. The shop is owned and operated by three generations of Elswicks. I believe them to be honest and fair. Before beginning any repair they call to clearly explain the problems and what does and does not need to be fixed. The stuff that doesn't need to be fixed is my favorite part. We had been searching for a decent mechanic for several years in Northern Virginia. I found them using Consumers' Checkbook, and highly recommend the shop.

The only place I will take my vehicles for a front end alignment!!! They are fantastic. Bo Elswick is the owner and has been in the business for 41 years. He's amazing, friendly, and very competent. It's a family-run business, so don't be surprised if you open the door to the office and see his granddaughter running around or his wife behind the counter. FIVE STARS on all accounts. If this place was closer to my home, I'd go there for ALL my car repairs. As it is, I take my vehicles to a place closer to home, a place that I've been going to for 15+ years, and they are fantastic too. They recommended Elswick's (and will only recommend Elwick's) for alignments.

Elswick has repaired many of my cars over many years. The first car Elswick repaired for me was a 1977 Mercedes 300D in 1981. The last car Elswick repaired for me was my 2003 Ford Crown Vic today, July 20, 2017. I don't know the hourly labor rates other than to say it must be fair because the jobs performed don't seem higher than others. I dropped my car off yesterday evening prepared to spend around $600 to replace master cylinder and power booster. I picked it up before lunch today and the bill was $125.00. The Mechanic discovered a more likely source of the problem and repaired it accordingly. I feel this is worth mentioning because I know of shops that would perform the unnecessary work for a pleased customer. By the way, I don't believe in perfection in a 1 out 6 choice.
