First, this shop is now called "Ferber Tire & Auto"; they seem to have kept the same people employed from when it was Moores (although I just moved to this area so I'm not sure), same location too. Very nice people and honest. Took a Buick there for hard starting problem and they checked battery and starter but didn't find anything and didn't charge me a dime. Told me they didn't want me to waste my money replacing parts since the problem could be so many differnt things, and recommended I wait until it gets worse so they can pinpoint the problem. Of course, when the problem gets worse I will be back. I also have a Mercury Mountaineer that I took there for a couple differnt things, and this car has its quirks (the driver's side door can't unlock if you let the power locks engage, so solution is to hold the unlock button down while putting it in gear). This is the first shop that has been told that and actually listened and followed the advice so that the door stayed unlocked!! It is a very good feeling to know that these guys don't just fix cars, they think about what they are doing while they are doing it. I would recommend them strongly, although if too many people find them then I can't get nearly the fast service I am getting now (each time I have gone there I have been in and out in less than 2 hours, and sometimes I didn't have an appointment). I would also like to recommend this shop to anyone who doesn't have a lot of money since they do the essentials and work with you to cut out the 'extras' if you can't afford it.

Scott and his fellows are the best mechanics. and their prices are fair. As a single woman, I really need to be able to know these guys are playing straight and they do. Also, I only have one car in a town with no public transportation and the always work with me. Scott would shower up into an outrageously cute guy, but more importantly, he knows the value of keeping the car going to avoid that car note!

I have been using this shop since 1993 when it was Armstrong's. I have had all my cars serviced there and recommended the shop to a number of folks. They are always honest and never try to sell services I don't need. I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee which is notorious for rear end problems. They rebuilt the rear end twice. The second time was a little over a year after the first. Rob Ferber rebuilt it the second time at no cost to me, even though it was outside the warranty. They are always willing to discuss alternative options when cost is a concern. They even give me advice if I am performing service myself, due to financial considerations at the time. I recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for an honest, competitive and competent shop.
