Boyd can quickly diagnose a problem with even a total dumbsh*t trying to explain it to him. Specializing in one car has helped in this regard. I have 198,000 miles on my 1985 900 and it still runs and drives great. I'll give Boyd a good chunk of the credit for this. He is not cheap, nor is he flexible in how a repair will be done, but the results are proof of his methods. I don't like the newer Saabs and will not be buying another, I expect to have to search a while to find a good mechanic for my next car.

I have found Boyd's a great shop to work with. Matt the owner is friendly and extremely knowledgable. He has gone above and beyond helping me repair my saab's. Matt even loaned me an ignition cassette when it failed on my 9-3 unitl I could get it fixed at the dealer under recall for no charge. I trust that he is looking out for the customer and anyone who is a SAAB loyalist. I would highly recommend anyone taking their Saab to his shop.

I feel like Matt is very trustworthy. I don't really know or care about the mechanical details of my car, but I know that Matt is always going to do a good job, honestly and professionally.

Matt is terrific! I started bringing in my '86 Saab 900S after another Saab specialist tried to sell me a muffler I didn't need. Matt picked up right away that I wasn't willing to spend more on parts than I did for the car and offered me used parts as often as possible. He always explained in detail what the problem was and the priority of each repair. My Saab may be going the way of the junkyard and I'm looking for another one just so I can keep my great mechanic! Boyd's is not close to where I live but Matt's honesty and experience have been well worth the commute.

Matt bought out Boyd a couple of years ago when Boyd retired, but the shop is still named "Boyd's". They are simple terrific with Saabs, and now with the new Trax light rail system they're convenient to public transit. Matt or one of his employees will run you up to the 90th South stop. The only bad part about buying a new Saab this week (and putting the old one up for sale) is that it'll be four more years until I get to go back to Matt for regular service. They're much better than the dealership service on price, promptness, and almost every aspect of service.
