I drive my VW Thing from my home in southern California to Salt Lake City every summer. I take three days and drive dirt roads in the Mojave (some are unbelievably bad)and mountain roads in Nevada and Utah. My first stop on arriving in Salt Lake is a visit to John Van Komen and Kurt Wittman's V&W Volkswagen in Murray (a Salt Lake suburb) for a check-up and oil change. Both are excellent VW mechanics, especially on the old air-cooled, dog-house models like mine. They came highly recommended by a fellow VW owner and haven't disappointed me yet. If your VW melts down near Salt Lake, tell the tow-truck driver to head for V&W in Murray.

I love this place! I've been driving VW's since I got my drivers license (11 years) and my biggest beef with Volkswagon's is finding someone who will work on them (and keep their opinions to themselves). I was at the end of my rope. Then, by the recommendation of a sympathetic fellow Volkswagon owner I came across V&W Volkswagon. Two nicer guys I have never met. I have never been overcharged. I was accoustomed to waiting a week for repairs and the first time I went to V&W my car was back underneath me before the day was out. They love Volkswagons. They genuinly care about the condition of my car. They fix the problem and always spot potential problems budding. They have itemized out repairs which I may consider in the future. Words cannot express the way I feel. I have recommended them to friends, all of whom have the same glowing remarks.

These guys are awesome John sr and jr. are great. They helped out so much and were completly hones about my dead battery. They did not look for any other problems. They even doubled checked their work. They know their stuff and are honest. These guys are my new and only mechanic.
