We have too many cars in our family: a 95 Honda Civic coupe, 88 Acura Legend, 91 Toyota Camry, 92 VW GTI, 93 Nissan Pathfinder, and an 85 VW Westfalia. The only one Peak Performance hasn't worked on is the 85 Westie. They are consistently fair, on time, and while not cheap, certainly not gauging either. They bail us out in emergencies, help us assess whether a used car is a reasonable purchase, and what to expect if our hearts got ahead of our brains. I may have to keep that 88 Legend a few more years just because it runs so well!

Honest, fair, and willing to admit and fix mistakes. You can't go wrong with these guys.

I found this shop when I walked into the DMV next door brand new to the state and found out I needed an inspection. After my new-to-me Frontier failed inspection 2500miles from what used to be home with 4 days left on my temporary plates these guys were awsome. They checked out the emissions system for leaks, and brought me out to the shop to show me what it all looked like. Rather than spend a lot of time (and money!) looking for a miniscule leak, they suggested replacing the gas cap, resetting the sensors and crossing our fingers. It worked, and now I've had an inspected truck and they have had a loyal customer. Only knowing what I learned on car talk, I trust these guys to only recommend what is really needed, and not charge you for anything un-necessary. They'll give you a ride to Trax too!

They have given extra life to a vehicle that other mechanics have told me was tired. I feel they have been honest with me on repairs, and have always fixed the vehicle. As I result, I could not answer some of the survey questions, because they have not yet made any mistakes. They are close to a Trax, so it is east to drop your vehicle off, go to work, and then return to pick it up when it is repaired.

They have worked on our Subaru and Toyota many times and we have always loved working with them except one time the charge for a simple repair(something that takes a few minutes) was a little outrageous and cost us $70. Very dependable and I trust them with my cars.

I was driving from NYC to Reno and started having an oil leak in Iowa-- I thought I could get through the trip just giving the car more oil, but decided in Wyoming that it needed to be looked at, I came to this website to find a mechanic in Salt Lake City--I called 5-6 shops to ask if someone was willing to meet me after hours--John came back to the shop at 10pm to look at it--I ended up leaving the car with him and renting a car from the airport to continue my trip--the repair was perfect, I made the trip back to NYC with no trouble-- I owe him a huge thank you, and one to this website--
