Emmet and Paul(thus the name) are honest, cheap, and effective. They've even help me solve problems over the phone. Willing to help inform you of simple do-it-yourself things such as how to change light bulbs and fuses on my own(no point in taking it to a shop for that anyway). Friendly with babies(our child loves to point and smile at the owners). They give out excellent references to other shops(wheels, alignments, body repair) that are equally honest, cheap, and effective. A+.

My family has been doing business with Emmett and Paul for 12 years. They are terrific. I am sure over the years they have saved us thousands of dollars in unnessary repairs. As a woman, I think they are the most honest and trustworthy auto repair shop I have ever worked with. I would not take my cars any place else. I recommend then all of the time and everyone that I have recommened loves they also. Try them, you will never go any place else.

Emmet and Paul were my salvation when another shop diagnosed our Plymouth Valiant with a dying engine. EP figured out what it really was- a bolt rattling around in the starter (I think) and fixed it for cheap. EP has occasionally driven me back to my house and reliably provides quality repair for affordable prices. They are generous with explanations as well. Highly recommended for people on a budget.

These guys are one of those rare things in life that you can depend on. I've been taking my cars to them for at least 15 years, and they have never steered me wrong. As a prospective customer, one important thing to know is that they offer up advice on whether a repair is critical or just something that can wait. When a "Check Engine" light popped up on my car a few days ago, I called them up, they had me come down immediately, they diagnosed the problem and told me it was due to low grade gas, and the car wasn't in need of repair. In 10 minutes, I was back on the road, and they refused to charge me. I simply can't recommend them enough.

I took my 2001 Nissan Altima to E P because of a weird smell coming from the defrost and a rough idle. They kept the car overnight and checked it out, but couldn't find a problem. Emmit recommended that I take it to a dealer b/c their computer would be better able to diagnose the problem. They didn't charge me anything and even spent fifteen minutes talking to me about possible problems. They seemed like honest guys, and I will definitely take my car to them in the future.

When I have a vehicle problem, I always do the manly thing and conduct my own investigation into the cause and potential solution. When I share my findings with Emmitt and Paul, they always listen politely, knowing that I usually mis-diagnose. Then, they ask one or two pertinent questions and bam! mystery solved. They freely share their considerable knowledge and offer tips that when followed, result in fewer paydays for them. Now, who do you know in any field that routinely does that? We love these guys. They make us feel welcome, never intimidate, only do what's needed, charge fairly, always get the job done and deliver when promised. Then, they go the extra mile for us. Hall of Famers they are!

Emmett is the nicest mechanic I have ever had. He is very courteous, extremely good at diagnosing problems. He explained the problems with my vehicles with the thoroughness of a scientist. They are extremely honest - I have been there for several problems and they have recommended that I not spend money to fix the problems since it was not anything major. That kind of honesty I have never seen in the automotive world. I would recommend this shop to anyone who is tired of being taken for a ride (no pun intended).

Emmett and Paul are the Click and Clack of Salt Lake! They're not only great mechanics but are fun as hell as well. They're always trying to save you money and the work they do is always exemplary. If they make a mistake or misdiagnose, they will bend over completely backwards to make it right and at their expense if need be. Salt Lake would be a much meaner place without them.

I really liked Emmett, I called to find out how much it would cost to install a catalytic converter in my pickup and after quizzing me a little Emmett told me he didn't think I needed one. I went to his shop, he reset my computer and explained that often older car's sensors were not calibrated for the ethanol/ gas combo sold now and it wasn't that the catalytic converter had failed but that the on board computer read the data as failing. He didn't charge me anything, my pickup passed the emissions test and I'm good to go for another year!

My check engine light started flashing and the Auto Zone on State and 9th told me to take my car to EP, just around the corner. I took my car there and they sure know their stuff (unlike me). Emmett knew the problem in a matter of second after turning my car on and hearing the awful sound. He called me several times with updates, explanations and pricing. My car ended up being there longer than expected but he sure went the extra mile in obtaining a hard to find necessary part. He stayed within the quoted price which was even less than I was expecting to pay. I would recommend them to anyone and even go there again myself, but hopefully not too soon! They even left a handy calendar in my car :) Thanks EP!
