Kevin Hecox, the owner and mechanic does great work and has a good sense of humor. Recently, my Pontiac Grand Prix decided to be a lemon when the alternator went out. Kevin quickly fixed it. Then the turn signal contacts in the steering column went out about a week later... and he took care of them. Then, the turn signals stopped blinking and would just stay lit. I was about to take it back, when the car just died. Turns out the battery was a goner. I commented to Kevin that we had to stop seeing each other like this... and he replied it was getting old for him too working on the same vehicle and it's electric problems.

I HAVE KNOWN THE OWNER FOR OVER TEN YEARS AND HAD MY PERSONAL VEHICLES REPAIRED THERE AS WELL AS WORK VEHICLES FROM A PREVIOUS JOB. THAT BOSS WOULD NOT TAKE WORK OR HIS PERSONAL VEHICLES ANYWHERE ELSE. KEVIN IS OPEN MONDAY THUR FRI BUT I COMPETENCE AND RESONABLE PRICING IS WELL WORTH GETTING THE VEHICLE TO HIM IF YOU ARE ON THE NORTHEAST SIDE OF SAN ANTONIO.

When we first moved to this community, we needed a mechanic. I searched for comments on this site and found some customer feedback (positive feedback) for Hecox Automotive. That was 2 years ago and we take both our vehicles to Hecox and have recommended friends and family to do the same. Kevin (I think that's his name!) is VERY honest, VERY timely, VERY competent and just an all around good chap. For example, I took my car in today for an oil change and brake check...I asked if he also did inspections, he said no...but when I went to pick up my car, HE HAD TAKEN IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC TO GET THE INSPECTION...and only charged me for the price of the inspection. WHAT A GUY!!! If you're looking for a mechanic in the Schertz, Cibolo, Universal City area...GO TO HECOX!!!

I first learned of Kevin from a member of what was then my Cub Scout Pack Organization Rep. about 8 or 9 years ago. While he doesn't work on automatic trannies or A/C, he does everything else - and at a very reasonable price. He is completely honest! My neighbor took his truck to Kevin - we live about 5 blocks from his shop - with a minor complaint. Kevin found the problem, re-connected the air tube, and called the guy's wife before the neighbor returned home. My wife has had a similar experience with a tripped fuel shutoff valve. He didn't charge either the wife or the neighbor! I wouldn't trust my vehicles to anyone else! I send everyone that asks for a mechanic to Kevin knowing that they will get a good repair at a reasonable price.

Kevin Hecox has taken good care of our Chevy Astro and Dodge Dakota Pickup for 5 years now. He is one of the most honest auto mechanics I have ever known. He runs a one man shop and is very knowledgeable. I will continue to trust him with whatever vehicle I purchase in the future.

Several guys at my gym talked about Kevin and what a good mechanic he is. They also touted his honesty and ethics. I had my car to my tire dealer for rotation and balance. They gave me a quote over $200 for front brakes (around 80K). A brake job sounded legit since I still had originals. Made an appointment with Kevin. When I got there he put it on the rack and told me I could probably get another 10k before needing a brake job. Around 90K he did my brakes for about $100 less than my tire dealer quote. Also, Kevin's labor charges is the same if you provide your own parts. He charged me $100 to replace alternator and belt which I bought using reward websites and discount codes.I believe my cost was less than what he would have charged for them. Like most of us we're at the mercy of our mechanic. It's comforting knowing Kevin is as honest and ethical a man you could find. I highly recommend him.
