Raj has been especially patient with my over-cautious attitude towards my car. I can never leave it with him without obtaining a complete explanation of all repairs to be done. He takes a great deal of time to explain what he needs to do. He also seems to have an incredible memory and often reminds me of recent repairs and asks if all is well. I do not think that I could properly detail the great care with which he treats my Honda. I am moving to Colorado soon, but I will probably return to Dallas to have my next timing belt replaced by him.

The repairs are done well and when promised. Additionally, I have never felt like I was making a boat payment for Raj. I have had estimates from other shops that were hundreds of dollars higher than what I paid at Raj's auto. I highly recommend his services to everyone in the Dallas metroplex ( I currently live in south Dallas and am willing to pack a lunch for the trip north).

I am new to the area and found them in your website. Everyone who works there is part of the Rajan family -- I mainly dealt with Riaz, Raj's son. It is a no-frills shop, they work hard, and are attentive to a fault: most doctors don't spend this much time empathetically explaining the possible ailments and remedies -- they actually asked me to bring in the "previous medical history" of what has been done to the car in the past. And I recieved phone message from Riaz the night after I picked up the car "to make sure everything is fine." Incidentally, this shop is entered twice in your database -- the other entry is under "Raj's auto Inc." in Dallas, TX.

What a great guy - RAJ! I sent my 17 year old daughter with her 1990 Honda for repairs based on recommendations made on the cartalk website. I called ahead, he called me when she arrived, he called me with the estimate, and he called me when he finished! She was also missing a non-essential part that he just happened to have in the shop so he installed it at a fraction of the price I had been quoted at other shops! That's service, and I'll definetly go back!

I found Raj's Auto on this website. We have taken our abused '98 Windstar to them at least 3 times (4?) and they have done repairs in a fast efficient manner. My husband and I recommend them to anyone needing a mechanic. Raj is the person we work with on our van, and he has been the one to look it over every time we have had to take it in for work. He understands our tight budget, and helps us work repairs into our finances on a priority basis.

Raj single-handedly disproves the mechanic stereotype. I can think of many examples of his honesty, but one stands out: At one point when I asked him to fix the AC in a decrepid old Chevy, he pretty much declined on the grounds that "you shouldn't be sinking any more money into this baby." Always a gentleman.

I first went to Raj's Auto when I started having problems with my '94 Cavalier (My wife drives it now, I have a nice new Ford Focus) and he was reasonably close to where I've worked. Their mechanics have always been great, and they've always been honest and straight with me. Raj and his crew have taken good care of me--Once, when I brought my car in during a lunch hour, he had someone drive me back to work. Another time, he even bought me lunch from Wendy's. My favorite part of taking my car there is that his mechanics don't mind if I mill around and talk to them while they're working on my car. I like to watch and learn, and they're always willing to explain what's going on. Even though I don't work near his shop anymore, and it's about a 45 minute drive away from where I live, I still prefer to make the journey so they can work on our Cavalier. I refer all of my friends to Raj, too.

My car had stalled in the middle of the road. The nearest mechanic was the Good Year Tiers so I towed my car to them. After initail disgnostics, Good Year told me that I will have to spend $3000 to fix my car and everything from radiator to head gasket and piston are broken. Based on my previous experience with Raj, I called him up and explained him the problem. He told me to go to a Toyota dealership and buy intake valve and than explained to me how to install it over the phone. The car started fine and I took it to him. He did all kinds of analysis on it and told me that the problem is with the ignition system and distributor cables. He raplaced it all and charged me just $50 labor. Total cost including parts and labor was $270. I saved $2300.

I have been going to Raj since around 1997. He was very highly recommended by a friend. He is very trustworthy. He will recommend just the necessary items to replaced or fixed. His price is reasonable. I also would not buy any car without bringing it to him to be inspected thoroughly. He is very thorough with the engine as well as the body. I have since recommended him to a few of our friends. Highly recommended.
