These guys are the greatest. My only regret is that we moved from Austin, and can't give them any more business! They've been extremely honest about what was wrong with the cars, i.e. telling us repairs weren't necessary when we thought they might be. They are also very cautious about spending our money if they are unsure of what is wrong (they don't just start replacing stuff). They are extremely busy, but always have a diagnosis, and usually also the repair, within the day. At least five of my friends also have many years of experience with this group, and all have glowing reviews!

Tommy and Bubba always explain repairs fully, and told me when it was time to replace my old car because it was too expensive to fix and not worth the money it would cost. They did not charge me when a problem could not be recreated even though they kept my car all day. Many of the people I work with use this garage as well, and I trust them completely.

I can't believe you don't have more reviews on these guys. They did a repair for me that could have easily soaked me for if they were that kind of folks. It was done right, done fast and done well. I can't say enough for good, competent, honest mechanics.

The first time I visited this shop, one of the guys fixed a screeching noise in my engine by spending a couple of moments straightening out a coil -- at no cost. All my repairs are now done there, where the service is performed in a timely & dependable manner for a reasonable cost.

The folks at Gene Johnson have always treated us well and done a fantastic job on our two cars. They were even able to solve a problem that three other mechanics and an insurance inspector could not solve. It took them 20 minutes and they did it for free!

They work on our vehicles - we are a non-profit agency (ASA). We do not have lots of money to start with, they always have been honest, reasonable and very helpful on whatever was they needed to fix. They DOD NOT take advantage of me (female) at all, actually when my car needed service I took it to them, so I tell all my friends about them Bubba and Tom are supper. I really happy that I discovered them after I moved to Austin, - 13 years ago!

Unknowingly about 5 of us in our small office are pretty loyal to ME Gene and when someone new to town asked for a recommendation for a mechanic, we all gave them the same answer, ME Gene. They are great guys, get things fixed quick, and have even tightened my belts for free when they noticed that they could use it.

My brother and I have been taking our cars to Bubba since we started college at the University of Texas and after graduating. So basically for the past 7 years and they've always done a superb job. Knowing that my brother and I have some mechanical ability, if the problem is simple he'll just hand the keys back and let us do it ourselves. Great bunch of guys and their work is always A+

I've taken my 1994 Ford Ranger and 1997 Honda Accord to ME Gene Johnsons on Airport Blvd for years. Bubba and everyone there are honest, explain the problem(s) thoroughly and do good, reliable work. The prices are fair and they're always willing to suggest/consider alternative approaches that make sense for vehicles as old as mine. You can depend upon the staff at ME Gene Johnsons!
