I went to this shop on a friend's recommendation when the warranty ran out on my 1985 Civic Dx. It was a Saturday, I had gone in for a tuneup, then commented as I was picking it up that I was having some problems starting it... Barney immediately diagnosed the starter, told me to come back the following Saturday when they could have the part...it would cost $40.00. I, being somewhat suspicious, (haveing been stuck with $200 bills by dealers) asked, is this a new or rebuilt?, and how did they know the problem by my description anyway? Well the following saturday, I showed up, they kept my car for about 30 minutes, and put new copper tips in the old starter. The bill? $40.00. No problems. I knew then that they were honest mechanics, I would have paid a lot more, not knowing better. That starter lasted an additional 150,000 miles, under their loving care. I can also attest that Delilah, who runs the front office, can diagnose just about any Honda problem over the phone, and she is more right than wrong. When the Civic died at 215,000 miles, I bought another Honda, so that I could continue having them service my car, even thought I drive 35 miles out of my way (passing 4 Honda Dealers, and 2 other Honda Specialists to get there).

Independent Foreign Car Repair has done such a great job for us on our 95 Honda accord. We drive 20 min. to take it there because we know we can trust them, which seems to be rare with alot of mechanics I've gone to. They even replaced our broken air conditioning dial at no charge. We didn't even ask them to, they just saw a need and fixed it.

I took my Accord to IFC for an expensive repair but they let me know there was a recall out and could have the car fixed free at the dealer.

Worked on my Madza. Pleased with the service and price. It takes 45 minutes to get there but I feel like they have done a good job.

This mechanic is the main reason we continue to purchase Hondas. They are the most honest and reasonable mechanics I have ever met, just not with myself but I have witnessed their honesty and compotency many times while waiting or picking up my vehicle. You can't go wrong with these folks!

I have taken my Hondas to this shop for over 20 years. I have had nothing but the best of care for my vehicles. In fact, the fact that I have found this repair shop as well as the reliability of the vehicles have made me a lifelong purchaser of Honda products for both myself and my children. I never have to worry about a runaround or misdiagnosis of a problem. If there were a 4 star scale for trust of a repair shop, I would rate these folks as 5 star!

I came to Arlington, TX to pick up a car that I purchased on E-Bay. These guys checked the car out for me. They were a big help. I would definitely recommend them to any Honda/Acura owner.

I went to IFC based on the reviews I read here. I gathered the top three shops based on the quality of the reviews and called them each to compare prices on replacing brake pads and getting an oil change. I also called my dealership for this information. The dealership was the most expensive at about $400 to replace the brakes. As I made my way up the list to IFC (who I felt had the best reviews), the price came steadily down. IFC was willing to do the brake job for $240 and the oil change for $21 also the most reasonable. I was very impressed and decided that with great reviews and the best price, I would definately make the 40 mile trip. I have not regretted that decision. They were very personable and honest with me. It turns out I only needed my front pads replaced. I wonder if the dealership would have told me that :)

Before moving to Arlington, I would drive 25 miles to have IFC work on my Honda Accord. Now I live 10 minutes from this shop and have returned to Hondas and Toyota. These guys are great, honest, fair and do the right work and no more. No surprises when you get your car back. They now also work on Toyotas too and we drive an Avalon with 150K on it and a new Accord.

These guys are great. I have a fair amount of mechanical ability and often do my own oil changes. But sometimes I bring my 2009 Accord here for its oil change. Always get good work at a fair price. I have also taken my 82 year old mother-in-law's 2001 Civic here for oil changes. The local Honda dealer left the oil plug finger-tight at the last oil change (luckily I found it in time to avoid disaster). Then on the next visit, they told her that her front suspension needed its "compliance bushings" replaced, at a price of over $500, and the car was not safe to drive. Also, when she got the car back from the dealership, it had a loud popping sound from the front suspension when driven over uneven pavement. I took the car to IFC, and they found a couple of front suspension bolts loose (loosened by the dealer?)...which they tightened, and the noise went away. They did this repair AT NO CHARGE. Amazing. Like I said, they are great guys.
