Most of the mechanics and the manager (Tim Caldwell) previously worked for the Goodyear shop on Highway 153, Hixson, TN. I used their services for over 30 years with complete satisfaction (Buick, Volvo, Range Rover, Suburban, Camry, Civic, Lexus ES300, Lexus LS400, et al). When Caldwell left to take over Goodyear's District Manager position, the service quality degraded drastically. Caldwell resigned his manager's position and purchased two cranchised Goodyear shops - one of which was Highland Tire and Auto Service. Several of the better mechanics at the Hixson Goodyear shop who had previously worked for Caldwell left and now work at Highland Tire and Auto. The service at Highland is what I had received for years under Caldwell's management. I guess the superior service reflects on the quality of his management and talent of his mechanics. On many occasions, I have received service for which I have not been charged. Additionally, Caldwell or the mechanics have suggested that I take vehicles to a dealer for select repairs when, unknown to me, it would be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. I have NEVER been dissatisfied with the quality of service and personal interaction my entire family has received from a Goodyear service shop managed by Tim Caldwell.

These guys are the greatest! Not just my opinion, but I know a guy who has 10 times the automotive knowledge I do , and he says they are great. I had to have an ABS unit replaced on a 92 subaru legacy, and they helped me get the part number right so I could find a used one and save a couple thousand bucks.

Have used this shop a few times and, until recently, had been impressed. However, for my last visit, they replaced what should have been some very cheap parts on what was a very cheap car (worth less than 2K). After charging $95 per hour for labor and a substantial markup on parts, I wound up paying about 3X's the normal cost of this uncomplicated repair. I found out afterwards that the rate for this repair was out of line. Other than the cost issue, they've always been honest and have done good work, but it's hard to justify that kind of pricing.

Needed a flat repaired. Dropped by on a weekday during lunch and they got right on it. Took ~30 minutes, they patched from the inside, took my spare off (and stored it back under the truck), put on the patched tire, and checked tire pressure all the way around for $19. Pretty much the cheapest price I found when calling around, and their customer service is top-notch. Would definitely recommend.
