While Bruce is an intelligent guy and knowledgeable mechanic, count on him to keep your car for a looong time. The first time he worked on my car I told him he could have it for two weeks while I was overseas. When I returned home, he hadn't yet begun working on it. My next couple experiences were much the same, though the delays were days and not weeks. Bruce has one guy working for him, and he impresses me as a sharp and skilled mechanic. But there's no on else in the shop. Bruce not only turns a wrench but he answers the phone and takes time to greet and talk to customers. I feel this is why scheduled work slides to the right. In fairness to Bruce, he admits that he tends to keep cars a long time. Bruce Beard Automotive, Inc., is located a short walk from Newport rotary, across the street from U-Haul. He specializes in Swedish makes, but I've seen BMWs there too.
