We buy Volvos and Saabs when they are about 7 years old. We always take them to Joe to be evaluated before buying. The repair costs are well under the cost of buying new. Joe and Cindy keep our '98 Volvo, '98 4 Runner, daughter's '99 Volvo and son's '98 Saab purring. They advise us when to buy used parts and when to buy new parts. We actually love to go to see them. Be sure to greet Nate, the office manager, by name. 9/7/08

I recently moved from IN to PA. Two of the most intimidating things to try to find after a move are a good hair dresser and a good mechanic. Well, I have accomplished the latter (that is why there is no photo attachment of me and my car). Jim Davis' place was recomended by a fellow classmate. She complained that she has to drive over an hour to reach them but raved about their cutomer service. So I thought, "what the heck". I was in for quite a treat. Turns out driving an hour to reach these guys is small potatoes. The day i first took in my car a couple and their new black lab pup had driven their car in from Maryland to be serviced at Jim Davis'!!! I had a lousy mechanic meachien my breaks on an emergency bais before a road trip to Colorado this past summer. My mechanic in IN had told me that the meachiening was uneven, and had worn the right frount roter so thin that it would have to be replaced the next time the breaks needed work (meachining again would cause it to worp). He thought the breaks would last well into the fallowing year but told me the warning signals so I would know if something was a miss. The signals were to occure in the fallowing order: 1) squeeking 2) slight grinding noise 3) the car would pull to the right when I stopped. All three occured in the same week and I freeked. So I took the car to Jim's place just sure that my Christmas bonus and persent buying money were history. I told the mechanic what I had been told and what I believed that the dignosis would be. He took it for a test drive, took the weels off for a once over and then took me back to show me what he found. The bays were exceptionally clean and the people curtious and informative. And...Good news, I found an extreamly honest mechanic (ther boss even stood behind his employee of 8 years to make sure he was giving me a correct dignosis).He showed me the pads - each had 2/3 life left. He showed me the roters and other various brake parts. He filed a little off here, took care of a rust spot there, and lubed them all up. I poked around under my car the entire time. He very casually got a history on the car. When the work he had been doing on my breaks was finished he was kind enough to spend a little extra time and effort to un-gum my chock and check my fluids. Now for the topper - all of this good advise and work cost me only $28.00. Halleluea I'll be able to give Christmas gifts after all!!! As i was paying the (extreamly car parts letterate) office manager offered to do a computer print out of all the dealer recomended tune up type stuff for my make/modle/miles car. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Joe (Not Jim) Davis Autosport and Crew are doing a great job servicing our SAAB! They are very friendly and accomadating for quick service and repairs. We are so happy to have a great, honest mechanic so close to home.
