I was having an electrical problem (most of my dashboard went out), so I called Tire Town. I've dealt with them several times before, and I've always gotten a fair shake. This particular time, I was told that they didn't have the schematics for my particular model, and that although they could probably dig around for a couple hundred dollars worth of labor costs, they probably wouldn't find the problem. This honesty is why I will always call Tire Town first. They came recommended by a number of friends who grew up in this area, and with service like this they'll continue to be recommended by old and new residents alike.

The mechanics at Tire Town always treat me well and LISTEN to my description of the problem, even when the problem is admittedly vague. They have never attempted to "fix" something that really wasn't broken; after having lived four years in Baltimore, this is a quality I thought was not to be found in a car repair shop! A typical example: I believed that my tires were worn down close to the minimum tread. I took my car in to replace the tires, but the mechanic and the owner looked at them and showed me that I was not measuring the tread wear properly and that the tires still probably had almost a year more of use left before they got bad enough to replace. They could have easily sold me the tires I already believed I needed (~ $200), but chose to do the honest thing instead. Guess where I bought my tires a year later! I take both my cars to Tire Town whenever they need service and have never been dissappointed.

J.R. is friendly and sincere. He listens when I talk and is happy to answer any questions. TireTown consistently saves me money on big and little repairs for my '87 Oldsmobile.

I have lived in State College 16 years and used Tire Town for all my tire work. They are a trustworthy company and really know tires. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Fair, honest, efficient, personable, service from community people, for years. They just saved me $400 compared to another local shop's inflated proposal for things I did not need.
