These guys are what mechanics should be. They diagnose things right, they do what they say they will when they say, they charge fair prices, and are unfailingly polite and helpful. If they don't think they can do a particular job, they say so and refer you to someone who can. In one illuminating episode, my wife's car stopped cold one dark and stormy night. The engine seized up and had no oil showing on the dipstick, and it turned out it hadn't been changed in two years (we were living in different cities; she thought I was taking care of it, I thought she was... but I digress.) Everyone, but everyone, told us we needed a new engine at multiple thousands of bucks. Glen said he thought he could clean it out and replace the timing belt. He did the job in three days, charged $350, and the thing ran like a top for years afterwards. (Considering the cost of Gypsy lubes avoided, we may even have come out ahead on the deal...but again I digress.) The shop has my undying loyalty.

I have tried others in the area; dealers (Nissan, Volvo, &Acura) and local repair shops but Glen and his crew are the best. They love Volvos and all of their idiosyncracies but I have seen everything in their shop even a Citroen and a Bentley. They are honest, reasonable, and efficient. I wish I had found them years ago and would have saved serious $$. When my '89 Integra bit the dust, he helped me find a new (used) RL that he then bought (from Honda) at auction. A mint car, thousands less than a dealer. He went over the car and its history (which he got from the original owners' dealership) and any tech bull or recalls. All my cars have gone over 160k miles with his care. A nice guy who will go the extra distance for his customers.

I've just started using these guys based on the strong recommendations of a couple of people in the area. So far, I've only had minor repairs done at this shop but I'm really encouraged by what I've seen so far. The shop is clean and well-organized. Everyone behaves in a courteous, top-notch professional way. Appointments are honored promptly and work is turned around in a reasonable time frame. Everyone I know who's used them has great things to say about their skill with a range of foreign cars. I will be taking my car there for all service henceforth.

Glenwood takes all of the hassle out of anything auto related. He has hand-picked 3 off-lease cars for me and maintains them as if they are his own. Overall, quality work by quality people.

Competent repair people. Fair price. They accidently cracked the windshield washer fluid reservior during an engine repair but I placed the car in storage the next day and didn't know this until months later. Have since moved. Check your car out when received.

Competent, prompt; fair pricing. Stunningly honest. Will not do work the car does not need even if you approve it in advance. Had a Volvo 240 where every other shop said it needed a new motor, $4000; Glen said often cleaning the upper oil passages solved the problem; it did, for $350 including a new timing belt. Does not like to work on certain makes, like Jaguar or Peugeot.
