We had been looking for an honest and dependable mechanic since moving to the area, and found Kreiser's by accident. One rainy day, with two kids in the van, I ran over a large bolt on the road. I limped my van to Kreiser's, where they not only dropped everything to plug my tire, they apologised for taking so long, and offered to send me the bill. I paid that day, and returned the next day with home- made cookies.

I recently moved into the neighborhood and was looking for a garage. Some friends didn't recommend Kreiser's because they didn't find simple problems during inspections like burnt out light bulbs. But that's not a big deal to me. If I have a burnt out bulb, I'll just replace it myself. So I decided to use them. In the past 2 years, I have taken 3-4 vehicles there for inspections and various minor repairs. They are always polite on the phone and explain repairs to me although I do have to ask. Their schedule is generally more open than many garages. They can generally fit in a vehicle for inspection or minor repair within 2-3 days. My former garage, a Honda specialist, was often booked 5-7 business days out. On the other side...I wouldn't have them install tires. I did that once and ended up with tires that were roughly $20 more expensive than what I would have paid at a tire shop like Manheim Tire or GCR. But that's a minor quibble.

I have been going to Kreiser's garage since it was owned by the father of the current owner. There are not many guys left like this guy. He is honest, and will not gouge you. He has always tried his best to fit me in and handle my "emergencies". I do try to pay him ASAP which I think he appreciates. I have gone to this garage since 1985, and am very satisfied. He is a sincere and down to earth guy that might not be much on small talk, but that's what I like about him. He's not there to provide you Starbuck's coffee and croissants, he will fix your car and do it right. If you want a waiting room, sushi lunch and a massage, go somewhere else. This guy will fix your car.
