A real community asset, just great people to keep your VW going for cheap.

Now it's my chance to dish, hunh? I can't sing the praises of this shop loud enough. I'm very skeptical of independent shops, but Buster's has passed the test with flying colours. I find VW shops ususally do (I used to own a Honda, but had her serviced at at VW place). When I returned to my hometown with a VW, my father insisted I take it to local "American" car garages. They never got the right parts, and mis-fitted the parts they did apply (don't even ASK about the fight for a fuel filter). A friend mentioned I should try Barlock's, and Skitter and I have been going there ever since. The first time I walked in, I was greeted by a batch of cats and Morning Edition on the radio. Somehow, it felt like home. I've never wanted for coffee, junky magazines or animal comfort in my time at Buster's. The only reason I've given Buster a "4" on "they fix the proplem the first time" is because we couldn't figure out that my timing chain was going (trust me; we tried everything). Since then, I've described car maladies and Charlotte, Buster's daughter, diagnosed them over the phone. I arrived, they fixed, I drove away happy. On a side note: The demise of my timing chain led me to my current fiancee, so maybe an omission of Dr. Buster is not so bad a thing. I can't push a car and steer it at the same time. So, perhaps in some circumstances, a blown timing chain is a good thing. I agree to this all and give Dr. Buster four gold stars, Karen.

It is the first time that I have felt comfortable dealing with a machanic. As a woman with limited car knowledge it is wonderful to have faith that they will do the work that needs done and nothing more. And when they do work it is done right. If there are any problems with the work that they have done, they are very courteous and quick to alleviate what ever the issue was. The Barlocks back their work and their used cars 100%. I will never buy a car or have a car serviced anywhere else. Thank you Barlocks.
